The largest city in the Northwest, Seattle is a thriving metropolis offering a variety of sightseeing opportunities. Sitting atop a hill that flows into Puget Sound, the city is visually pleasing, containing a mixture of old and new architecture, from sky scrapers to sports arenas to historic buildings. Coffee is truly king in Seattle and certainly a passion for most who live there. Home to Starbucks, every city corner seems to sport one of their coffee shops. Hungry? Fresh fish and other produce are readily available 7 days a week at Pike Place Market, the nation's oldest continually working farmers market (circa 1907).
Not far from the city's borders you'll find the great outdoors, providing many opportunities for sporting and nature enthusiasts. Nearby outdoor activities include golfing, kayaking and canoeing, hiking, clamming, and fishing. A little farther out are a number of National Parks, including Mount Rainier National Park, a Mecca for mountain climbing and other winter sports.
