Nestled deep within scenic Adirondack State Park in Upstate New York, the Winter Olympic Sports Complex is a mecca for winter sports enthusiasts from around the world. The hub of this great complex, Lake Placid, New York, was the center of world attention and admiration when it hosted the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. The complex is composed primarily of three main facilities, namely the skating arenas, the ski jumps, and the bobsled/luge/skeleton runs.

Interested in winter sports? Well you've come to the right place. Strap on your skis and together let's launch off the 120 meter ski jump that'll take us high up into the air and straight into this tour.

Ice Skating & Speed Skating - Remember the 1980 Winter Olympics when the USA Men's Hockey Team triumphed over the Russians? Well this is where the "Miracle on Ice" happened and history was made on February 22, 1980, here in the 1980 Winter Olympics Skating Arena. It was a white-knuckler, the USA won by a single goal, USA 4, USSR 3. The Olympic Skating Complex also boasts the 1932 Winter Olympics Skating Arena where figure skater-turned movie star Sonja Henie won her second of three consecutive Olympic Goal Medals. Remember USA speed skater Eric Heiden? In 1980 he won 5 Olympic Gold Metals for the USA. On the Lake Placid Olympic Speed Skating Oval he broke 1 World and 5 Olympic Speed Skating Records.

Ski Jumping Complex - Primarily consisting of two tall ski jumps, the Olympic Jump Complex is a world-class training facility for ski jumping. The 90 meter and 120-meter jump towers are true skyscrapers where the brave (or crazy) risk life and limb for the love of their sport. The 120-meter tower features a skydeck that is accessible to the public via chairlift/elevator. Steps away you'll find the Kodak Sports Park where freestyle skiers train year-round.

Verizon Sport Complex - A mecca for world class athletes who complete in bobsled, luge, skeleton, cross country skiing, and biathlon, the Verizon Sports Complex also offers sporting opportunities to the general public. That's right! You too can experience many of these same sporting thrills in the summer months. Located near Lake Placid, NY at Mt. Van Hoevenberg, the complex also offers over 20 miles of challenging mountain bike trails, from moderate to intense.
