I come to the end of the singletrack and spill out onto FR 2642. Turning right I continue uphill a little way.

Some noteworthy geology. I like the color.

Just a little farther before I hit more singletrack. There's a limited view here, the hightest point of the trail at 3,750 feet. Yes, the lake is in the picture, just a little wedge of it.

I arrive at the next section of singletrack. It'll loop around in downhill fashion back to FR 2642.

My first serious downhill of the trail, and it's singletrack, which makes it all the more fun!
