During our walk we encounter this lone surfer. I bet the water must be frigid. No surprise, it's mid-October, plus, we're located at the northern reaches of the eastern seaboard. I now understand why there's only one wave-crazed surfer.

The waves prove to be rather small. So, they are safe, no worrying about getting wet, right?

Wrong! Somehow Monica gets wet. And she revels in it! So much so, she tries to lure me into the same experience.

In the end I join in the soggy fun, we both end up with soaked sneakers. Here's a video (4.9 MB) of me crossing the dangerous fjord and at journey's end celebrating sweet victory.

Me and the Maine Coast.

More Maine Coast.
