Me atop the observation tower. Next to my right shoulder is... is... is... oh damn, I need to look at the placard again for the landmark's name!

Time to return back to the van, I hike 0.5 miles back down to the trailhead.

My hike up to Clingmans Dome proved to be short but sweet. Atop its observation deck I received an eyeful of great panoramas and an overload of landmark information. A good bang-for-my-buck, I almost experienced panoramic overload, if one could actually get too much of such a thing. I give this hike 4.5 thumbs-up, an almost perfect rating!
