Downtown Seattle has a clean metropolitan sense to it with much of its inner skyskape dominated by tall buildings of various colors, shapes, and architecture. Personally, I've never spent much time in a city with tall buildings so this is a real treat for me. Surrounded by concrete and steel gives me a sense of protection and safety, a womb-like feeling.

Seattle has a nice skyline, here are two directionally opposed views of the city from afar. The first was taken from the marina and the second near the baseball stadium.

One of the many cool places in the city is Pioneer Square. It's filled with small shops, pubs, and eateries. It reminds me of NW 21st and 23rd in Portland, Oregon, my hometown.
