Lake Placid, home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics, is a true center for winter sports. Aside from its rich winter sports history, Lake Placid is a quaint village where you can simultaneously window shop and enjoy the surrounding outdoors.

The village borders Mirror Lake, not Lake Placid, which is a little confusing. Lake Placid is actually much larger than Mirror Lake and is located a stone's throw north of Mirror Lake.
