I get up around 9am with only 3 hours of sleep under my belt. Reason being I was up until the early morning updating the website so I didn't get much shut-eye. But I'm happy to say I'm all caught-up with the site's content, so the red, burning morning eyes are well worth it.
I spend part of the morning writing up a "friends seen" profile for Gil, the first friend I've encountered on my trip. I've spent a number of day's visiting Gil and catching up because I don't see him very often. My stay at his place was warm and welcoming. Thanks Gil! However, today I must push on to Idaho.
Today's road trip will take me to Sandpoint, Idaho which borders Lake Pend Oreille. Gil told me about Lake Pend Oreille, thinking it would make a good next stop for me on my way to Montana. He's spent some time there boating and thinks it's a beautiful area. When planning the road trip I discovered between Spokane, WA and Sandpoint, ID is Spirit Lake. It's a sizable lake so I add that to my travel plans.
The trip starts in Spokane, WA. Nothing interesting to show you at the start, just residential streets.
I finally break out of Spokane travelling North on Route 2.
After driving North a moderate distance along Route 2, I turn Northeast, trading the busy highway for country/wilderness roads, all the while passing through Mount Spokane State Park.
