Ahhh, there's the entrance. I'm pretty jazzed up about my up and coming tour. The park itself is pretty big. Encompassing more than 52,000 acres, it draws, from near and far, more than a million folks each year. I suspect most of the visitors are like me and have come to experience the park's underground offerings.

Mammoth Cave National Park is where you'll find the longest recorded cave system in the world. Measuring almost 350 miles and growing every year, Mammoth Cave is a must see if you ever find yourself in Central Kentucky. Since more than a million folks visit the cave each year, there must be something very interesting about this place.

After my tour ends around 3pm I lounge around in the park's parking lot, cooking up dinner in the van. After dinner the sun makes a run for the hills, it's only 5pm, but already it has turning quite dark.

Rather than drive back to Glasgow, KY and overnight for a third night at their Walmart, I decide to push off to Pigeon Forge, TN. The drive will be a long one, however, I wish to tour Great Smoky Mountains National Park tomorrow. The only way that's going to happen is if I put the pedal to the metal and head to eastern Tennessee.

After a night of uneventful driving, I arrive just outside of Pigeon Forge a little after 10pm and park overnight in a Walmart parking lot, go figure. After making a few calls, I wrap things up and go to bed. Tomorrow I have plans to go hiking in the Smokies.
