Having learned about the Vietman War in school, inspired children share their understandings in the form of poems they've left behind at the base the Memorial Wall. Reading some of their poems, I'm immediately struck by their depth, breadth, and sincere compassion.

The poems just go on and on.

5,576 personnel from California died or are MIA * 1,923 personnel with the ranking of Captain (CAPT) died or are MIA * 24 personnel died or are MIA on Christmas Day in 1967 * 39 personnel with the name of John Smith died or are MIA * 2 personnel with the last name of Peace died or are MIA * 2,586 personnel serving in the Air Force died or are MIA.
