Central Maine Coast
After greeting the early morning sun I drive a little ways to Bass Harbor Lighthouse. Constructed in 1858, this seaside sentinel possesses a rich and interesting history.

With completion of my lighthouse tour I discover my time in Acadia National Park has come to an abrupt end. In summary, Acadia serves up a kick-back place to relax and explore. While none of its individual offerings can compete with such places as the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, or Joshua Tree, I believe the sum total of its offerings produces a top-notch park that has something for everyone. I rate my tour of Acadia National Park a solid 4.5 thumbs-up.
