Today was entirely dedicated to visiting a large portion of Lake Placid's Winter Olympic Sports Complex. I visited the major attractions, including 2 ice arenas, a speed skating rink, 2 ski jumps, a free-style ski center, and a multi-purpose bobsled/luge/skeleton facility.

First on my sightseeing agenda was to tour the ice skating and speed skating rinks.

After completing my tour, I jumped in the van and headed south on Route 73 to the Olympic Jumping Complex.

After completing my tour I ski jumped ... er ... jumped into the van once again and headed even further out from Lake Placid to the Verizon Sports Complex. This is where you'll find the facility used for bobsled, luge and skeleton.

After my final tour had ended I found myself all bloated with everything Olympic. With plenty of fascinating Olympic history swimming around in my head to ponder, I drove back to my campsite. After arriving I settled in for the night and worked a bit on my travel writing. Sadly, tomorrow would be my last day in the Adirondacks. Before going to bed I drew up plans to tour Whiteface Mountain via the Veteran's Memorial Highway.
