The next three days I'll be spending time with a friend on the Maine Coast. Monica is flying in from NYC this evening, and I have to make some preparations prior to her arrival.

Today's drive will take me to Kennebunk, ME where I'll check into a cabin and hang out until Monica's flight arrives in the evening. From Kennebunk I'll drive up to Portland to fetch her then we'll drive back to Kennebunk.

My drive starts out dreary enough.

Ooops! My mind is wandering, I'm not paying attention to my route. This happens from time to time, I forget to look at the map and miss a turn. Fortunately, I didn't stray far off my intended route, recovery is a matter of a u-turn and an extra drive mile.

The scenery is rather ho-hum boring.

The only thing that catches my eye on the way to Kennebunk is this pond scene. The trees remind me of lollipops.
