Boston, Massachusetts

Turning 180 degrees from the Shaw Memorial I see the Massachusetts State House. I'm not sure what's more impressive, the building's gold dome or the huge "Go Sox" banner which attests to Boston's craze for America's favorite pastime, baseball. Completed in 1798, the Massachusetts Legislature still conducts its business within the elegant confines of this historical structure.

My next stop is Park Street Church. To get there, all I have to do is follow the red brick trail.

Apparently these folks think they can take the tour in their vehicles?

I finally arrive at Park Street Church. Built in 1809 on the sight of an old granary, the ornate steeple reaches 217 feet into the sky. For many years the church was the first landmark travelers would see when approaching Boston by land or by sea.
