Spanning a portion of Lake Pend Oreille, a 2-mile long bridge brings me straight into Sandpoint, Idaho. My first impression of the community is a good one. It has a friendly, easy-going feel to it. It appears to be a great place to kick-back and relax.

Sweet Jesus! As I pass into town I notice it's almost 100 degrees out! It's days like today that make me thankful for the van's air conditioning.

I make my way to Sandpoint's City Beach. Bordering Lake Pend Oreille, the beach proves to be quite expansive. In the distance I see a small marina that primarily moors sailboats. Not far from the marina a dock is busy occupying the attentions of a few teenagers who are diving from its slippery edge. This is a peaceful, fun place. Surely many a good memory has been made here, my own included.
