Lake Placid, New York

The park consists of 3 ramps of varying heights and a 750,000 gallon pool to catch the airborne skiers.

A class is being conducted on the shortest ramp where all of the students seem to be kids. Much to my pleasure a handful of adults are using the longer ramps. Because you know what they say, the longer the ramp the gnarlier the aerobatics.

It's funny watching the skiers in and around the pool. Snow is replaced by water, it all seems so unnatural and out of place.

Here's a funny one, this student starts his ski-run down the ramp backwards. After being launched from the ramp he tries to twist around but loses his ski in the process. VIDEO: Here's the video (1.38 MB) of the disastrous aerial maneuver illustrated above.

Here's a simple back flip perform by one of the students. Yeah right, it's NOT simple. I don't think I can do it, can you? VIDEO: Here's the video (1.47 MB) of the "simple" back flip illustrated above.
