Central Maine Coast

More up, up, up, and more views of Eagle Lake.

I'm almost to the top now. I can see Bar Harbor to the north.

More huffing and puffing, more peddling.

More views.

I finally reach the visitor parking area at the top of the mountain. Not terribly exciting eh? You know what? I took loads of pictures from atop Cadillac Mountain on my hiking trip yesterday so I'm not going to bother doing it again. I guess it all boils down to meeting the challenge of biking up the mountainside. I rode up here not for the views, but rather, for the challenge of the ascent. I didn't realize when I started that the ride up was all about the journey and nothing about the destination. It's funny how things can sometimes flip around like that.
