What's the difference between a balcony and a gallery? A gallery has a roof overhead, a balcony doesn't. Some of the balconies are all dressed up in Mardi Gras themes.
Near Jackson Square I happen upon French Market. I tell ya, this place has got it all. You don't believe me? Well, check out Gater on a Stick! Believe me now? Yes, this place -does- have it all.
The market just goes on and on. Too bad I'm not going to buy anything, I'm just passing through. However, I almost bought the stuff pictured in the last photo. Pretty amazing stuff. You just add water and the substance swells. It's used for plants. You mix it into the plant's soil and any water you add is initially retained within the substance. Over time the water slowly drains from the substance into the soil. The bottom line is your plants will require less watering because the water doesn't sieve through the soil. Pretty cool, eh?
