M O U N T M A R C Y
Adirondack State Park Upstate New York
I finally reach what is called the Arctic Alpine Plant Zone. The plants are delicate here so you must stay on the trail. It's a good thing I didn't go with the riding lawn mower option that I brain-stormed early on in the hike.
All the evergreens I see at this level are stunted and are no larger than a garden-variety Christmas tree.
I noticed there's a lot of dead debris intermixed with the live flora.
Rocks, rocks, and more rocks as I climb.
A nice view looking to the northwest.
