Adirondack State Park
Upstate New York

Fall was in the air and on the ground. The smell of leaves is strong now. It reminds me of when I was a kid. I would rake leaves into a big pile, run and jump into them, then while laying face up in the pile, take a big, deep drag through my nose. It was Heaven on Earth. The best smelling leaves in my opinion are walnut leaves. Their scent is indescribably wonderful.

Spectacular colors are all around me as I continue on down the trail.

That's not tree dandruff, all those little specs are mosquitoes. The air is chocked full of them. The trick to avoid them is to keep moving. They can't bite what moves.

Hiking interspersed with leaf-spectating.
